Is it too late to be a starter for this one?

The kids (Hamish and Patrick) are keen although will only be able to fish Saturday arvo and Sunday morning as Patrick is having his 8th birthday party. We have never fished Botany bay so looking forward to it and maybe the old man might at last be able to out fish the young ones for a change - sounds like it'll be a good weekend.
